Meet Joseph — Your English Teacher

I’m Joseph Artault, founder and lead teacher at LEFO (Learn English Fast Online). I’ve spent over 10 years helping professionals from France, Belgium, Switzerland, China, and India communicate confidently in English.

Teaching Background

My teaching career started in language schools across China, where I taught professionals preparing for international business. Since then, I’ve worked with hundreds of French-speaking professionals — from job seekers preparing for interviews to executives leading meetings in English.

I specialise in the specific challenges French speakers face with English: pronunciation traps (the th sounds, the h that disappears, vowel pairs that don’t exist in French), false friends that cause embarrassing mistakes, and the grammar patterns that trip up even advanced speakers.

Why I Built LEFO

After years of one-to-one teaching, I saw the same pattern: students improve fast during lessons but plateau between sessions. They needed practice tools that understood their specific weaknesses as French speakers — not generic English apps designed for everyone.

So I built LEFO from scratch: a platform combining live sessions with AI-powered tools designed specifically for francophones. Every tool on this platform exists because a real student needed it:

• Pronunciation Practice — AI-powered phoneme-level scoring that catches the exact sounds French speakers struggle with (th, h, vowel pairs). Not a generic pronunciation app — built around 24 French-specific phoneme tips.
• Voice Conversation Practice — Speak with an AI in realistic scenarios from our lessons. It corrects your grammar and vocabulary at the end, not during the conversation (so you build fluency, not anxiety).
• AI Teaching Assistant — A chatbox trained on each lesson’s content that lets you explore vocabulary, grammar, and usage at your own pace.
• Multimodal Courses — Each lesson combines video, pronunciation drill, voice practice, AI chatbox, listening exercise, and interactive quiz — six ways to learn the same material.

Teaching Approach

I believe in practical, job-relevant English. No textbook grammar drills. Every lesson is built around real situations my students actually face: writing professional emails, surviving hotel check-ins, navigating medical emergencies abroad, or preparing for that job interview that could change their career.

Sessions are one-to-one via live video. I work with a custom-built Teaching Assistant that lets me send vocabulary cards, grammar notes, and exercises directly into our shared workspace during the lesson — no switching between apps, no “I’ll send you that later.”
